Rainbow Wedding in the Redwoods

As an event specialist in the party rental industry, we get to use our creativity and design expertise to help many customers create the look and feel for their event. It is a fun and rewarding job, but it is even more rewarding when you get to design your own wedding!

Jenna, one of our talented Event Specialists in our Milpitas showroom location, recently married her significant other, John, of 8 years.

Here is their story:

How They Met

Jenna and John met in Ukiah while Jenna was dating one of John’s closest friends, RJ. Developing a friendship over the course of a year, Jenna and John grew closer as her relationship with RJ came to a close. Seeing their connection from a mile away, RJ (the groom’s best man) gave John his blessing and encouraged him to move forward with Jenna. Six years later…

The Proposal

In December of 2008, John suggested that they take a trip to Ireland the following summer, to celebrate both Jenna’s graduation and his own 24th birthday. After 2 weeks of vacationing in Ireland, they ended their stay by visiting Newgrange, a 5000 year old ancient ruin. John wanted to take a picture in front of the ruin so they asked a passerby to take it for them. But, right before the shutter was snapped, he dropped to one knee and asked, “Jenna Rose Mashek, will you marry me?”

The Wedding

The 4 “R”s: Rainbow, Robin Hood, Renaissance, Redwoods

You can see Jenna’s artistic and stylish touch in all the details of their wedding, from the venue locations to the bridesmaids’ shoes. For the reception, the tables were all a different color of the rainbow with napkins tying each table to the next sequentially. Brown acted as the neutral agent tying the colors together and could be found on the cocktail tables, cake table, accenting the head table, and in the bridesmaids dresses. The centerpieces were designed to look like a piece of the forest floor, bursting with flowers in all colors occurring in nature.
