I’m excited that The Stuart Rental Company blog is finally here. I have been trying to decide on the topic for our very first blog post. So, I was thinking, what can a party rental company possibly offer the public that would be interesting and informative? Then I started to think about what makes my job in a party rental company fun and interesting. I realized that I really like to design different table settings with the different linens, china, tables, etc. that we have. But, I think what is even more interesting than just me designing a table, is to see many creative people come together and design different tables, using the same rental items.
I’m always amazed at what my co-workers, the event specialists, come up with when we design all the tables in our showroom. I work with such a creative group of people that it’s so great to see their spin on things. Even our accountant added a nice touch to one of the centerpieces on our showroom table. I think that’s great.
So, for our very first blog, I decided to get our creative juices flowing and issue out an Overlay Challenge. We recently just purchased a new overlay called Organza Swirl Tiffany on Chocolate linen. It looks exactly like its name.
I had that overlay sent to 2 of our Bay Area locations in Milpitas and Mountain View and asked them to come up with a table design. I didn’t give them any guidelines or restrictions, (except that they obviously had to use that overlay), so they were able to use any rental item we had in inventory.
The results are coming in and so far they’re great! The Milpitas event specialists decided to use a Lamour Mocha linen that goes to the ground on a 72” round table keeping the overall look of the table in a brown tone. To enhance the brown tones of the table, they chose the Antique Copper Glass Chargers for each place setting. To bring out the tiffany blue swirls in the overlay, and to keep the theme of the brown tones, they chose to use 2 colors for the napkins. They chose Lamour Chocolate and Lamour Tiffany Blue napkins. The results of the 2 napkins put together are fabulous. You get the best of both worlds. They created a fancy pocket to hold the flatware and placed it on the charger. How creative! To top it off, they added some tiffany blue marbles in each Guggenheim champagne glass just for that added extra touch.
I’m eagerly waiting to see what design our Mountain View Event Specialist will come up with. Tune in next time for the results!
