Carnival-Themed Birthday Bash

Jul 14, 2009

Thinking of some fun themes for your next event? How about a carnival theme?  The Stuart Rental Company recently helped plan a birthday party at a private residence that incorporated all sorts of carnival-themed décor, food, and entertainment.

The Stuart Team installed a 50 x 70 Frame Tent in the backyard that housed the main dining and dancing area.  The tent provided the guests with shade while fans and swamp coolers around the perimeter kept the guests cool.  Colorful balloons from Balloonatics, along with our purple linens and white resin folding chairs gave the event a casual, but fun feel.  A carnival-themed menu was created that included foods such as corn dogs, BBQ ribs, cotton candy, and candy apples, to name a few.

Guests also enjoyed all sorts of carnival-themed entertainment.  There were aerialist performances, carnival games, a caricature artist, a fire & light show, hula hoop dancers, and even live animals!  All the guests were fully entertained and had a blast.

As the event progressed into the evening, our colorful tent lighting created a completely different feel.  An ambient atmosphere was created for guests to dance and celebrate all night long.  It’s amazing what some lighting can do.

great theme and great blog as well. the eye-candy color and the mellow lights really contribute to the festive atmosphere of the party/ and the table arrangements and balloons are like icing to the cake that provided striking contrast. i'm thinking of giving a party with the same theme soon. keep up the good work!

Hi,
just curious what kind of lights did you use to light up the tent?
loved the colors and how it reflects up on the ceiling of the tent.

Hi Roxanne:

Thanks for the compliments. The lights that were used are our 5 watt string lights. They can be strung on canopies, trellis, or just across an area. On our gallery (http://stuartrental.com/gallery_stuart_rental_bay_area/) we have a picture of our 10 watt string lights strung across a dance floor. It looked really nice. :)
